Abstract

Pemanfaatan sabut kelapa sebagai produk yang memiliki nilai jual lebih masih terbatas. Sabut kelapa mengandung komponen bernilai tinggi, yaitu serat (cocofiber) dan serbuk (cocopeat), yang berpotensi digunakan dalam industri, hortikultura, dan produk bernilai tambah lainnya. Namun, pengolahan sabut kelapa secara konvensional masih manual, terpisah, dan kurang efisien, sehingga produktivitas rendah dan kualitas produk tidak seragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang konsep alat penghasil coco coir terintegrasi yang mampu memisahkan cocopeat dan cocofiber secara otomatis untuk mendukung UMKM. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur dan studi deskriptif. Studi literatur fokus pada karakteristik sabut kelapa, teknik pengolahan, dan analisis desain alat yang ada. Studi deskriptif dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan ahli, teknisi, dan pelaku UMKM untuk memvalidasi kebutuhan pengguna, aspek ergonomi, keamanan, serta potensi ekonomi alat. Hasil rancangan konsep alat terdiri dari dua komponen utama: tabung pencacah dan kerucut pemisah. Tabung pencacah menghancurkan sabut kelapa menjadi coco coir, sedangkan kerucut pemisah memisahkan campuran menjadi cocopeat dan cocofiber. Sistem ini meningkatkan efisiensi proses, kualitas produk seragam, serta mendukung pemanfaatan limbah sabut kelapa secara ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan.
