Abstract

Abtsract: Analysison contribution of hotels in supporting the promotion of tourism
destinations. The research problem is whether there are contributions of hotel to tourism
destinations Ternate city? the problem is recognized by the presence of a number of
phenomena indicating that the city of Ternate has a variety of regional destinations and a
number of tourism destinations and in relation to this, the culture and tourism department
has formulated various strategies to promote the existing potential, while on the other
hand, the authors found there were a number of opportunities the have not been used by the
department of culture and tourism of Ternate city in making effective a variety of promotional
strategies, one of which is utililising the hotel as a target of promotion and cooperation in
supporting the promotion of tourism destinations in the Ternate city. Hotel strategic role can
be improved by taking advantage of opportunities because the hotel is always visited by many
users for accommodation services, thus the hotel will be a valuable strategy for promoting
the potential and tourism destination in Ternate city. This minor thesis aims to identify and
analyze the contribution of hotels in supporting the promotion of tourism destinations in
the city of Ternate.The method used is qualitative research by conducting observation and
interviews as well as using interview guide. Population of this research is all management
of hotel in the city while the sample of this study is boulevard hotel, bela hotel, dragon hotel,
batik hotel, and the corner hotel.Research shows that there hasnever beena promotion of
tourism destinations through the hotel. In addition, relevant agencies at both provincial and
city levels do not work together to make the hotel as a strategic means of promotion.Hotel
is a strategic tool for the promotion of regional tourism destination, because the hotel is the
tourism stakeholders whosefunction is selling services do to relatively number of visitor who
come, then by utilizing these conditions, the promotion will be more effective
