Abstract

The phenomenon of some students majoring in accounting who are less enthusiastic about learning, can reduce academic success. Academic success and the level of teaching excellence is highly dependent on the level of student enthusiasm for learning. The success of studying in college is also influenced by the social environment. If you get along with a good environment, students will not experience obstacles in the teaching and learning process. But if you are in an inappropriate social environment, students will experience many learning obstacles. The goal of this study was to identify the causes and manifestations of students' disinterest in studying. The method used in this study is the method of observation, interviews and literature. Observations, interviews and literature were used to obtain data about the lack of interest for learning. The subjects in this study were several students majoring in accounting at the Manado State Polytechnic. The results of the research show that the factors that influence students' lack of interest for learning are: 1). The lecturer's way of teaching is not clear, and the grades given are not appropriate; 2). Lack of motivation and appreciation from family and too many assignments; 3). The lecturer only wants to explain continuously and the assignments given by the lecturer are never checked; 4). Play games, join organizations and lecturers get angry when students ask questions; 5). Online learning and non-constructive association.
