PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT LOKAL TENTANG PENGEMBANGAN RESORT DAN RESTORAN
Abstrak
Abstract : Local Community Perception on the Availabilityand Development of Resort and
Restaurant. Currently, tourism development in archipelagic regions is the priority of Indonesian
government. North Sulawesi has 256 islands 11 of which border with the Philippines. One of the
regencies that borders directly with the Philippines is Talaud Islands regency It
has a cultural
tradition called maneewhich is annually held
in Intata Island, but actually Talaud regency also has
many islands that can be developed as tourist attractions. Sara is an island which islocated near the
district capital Melonguane. Now Sara Island
is
prioritized
to have supporting facilities such as
resorts and restaurants that will be constructed . This study aims to assess local perceptions towards
the development of supporting facilities on the island of Sara. Research method used was qualitative
supported by quantitative data. Data collecting technique was survey by using questionnaires and
open interviews.Quota sampling technique was used to collect data whose number of respondents is
125 respondents, only for information needed. The data were analyzed using Likert scale and table
analysis.The results of research showedthat the scale of the overall attitude of the total obtained
fom the responses was 40% strongly agreed, 31% agreed, 12% did not know, 9% disagreed and 8%
strongly disagreed. The total of respondents who agreedwas 71% of125 respondents
which means
that more thana half of local inhabitants support the development of
of supporting facilities
such
as resorts and restaurants on Sara island. Suggestion to the local governmen is that they must be
consistent to involve local communities in the planning, developing and managing the supporting
facilities on the island
