Abstract
The study was conducted on the Kalasey Bridge on Jalan Manado Outer Ringroad III (MORR 3) STA 9+799. Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA) test is a dynamic test with the case method equation on pile to process data. The purpose of the study was to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity (Qu) of the bored pile, and compares with the results of the PDA-PAX test which was analyzed by CAPWAP (Case Pile Wave Analysis Program) software. The method of data collection was carried out through field observations, as well as literature studies. Calculation of bearing capacity using the Reese and Wright method based on SPT (Standard Penetration Test) data, and the superstructure weight is calculated manually.
The calculation result of Qu on abutment 2 is 979.73 tons, and the allowable bearing capacity (Qa) is 326.58 tons. The bearing capacity of the pile group (Qg) is 2900 tons, and the number of piles in the group are 4 (four) piles. PDA test results in abutment 2, on pile No. 25 and 36 with a hammer weight of 5.24tons, and the number of blows is 1 time, obtained Qu of 249tons and 504tons respectively. Maximum pile settlement of pile No. 25 and 36 are 7mm and 4mm, as well as pile permanent settlement up to 3mm and 2mm, respectively.
Furthermore, using the Reese and Wright method, the number of piles obtained is 4 poles, while in real conditions at the field is used 18 poles. The results of the evaluation show that there
is a significant difference in the number of piles, due to the different methods used, as well as several different approaches/assumptions taken in the analysis process.
