Kuat Tekan Beton Berdasarkan Metode Curing Time di Lapangan pada Rigid Pavement
Abstrak
Rigid pavement is a type of road pavement that uses concrete as the main material. Concrete must be cured after made to keep the inside of the concrete cool, moist, and free of porous. There are several methods of curing concrete, and different curing methods in the field and in the laboratory will also produce different strengths, this study aims to determine how much the difference in compressive strength results from different curing methods in the field, laboratory, and untreated.
This research was conducted using an experimental method. The making of concrete samples with a compressive strength of 40 MPa. Curing methods studied is the method used in the field, which is covering concrete with geotextile cloth and then watering everyday, the laboratory treatment method is soaking the sample in water, and not curing the concrete at all. The shape of speciment were cylinders with a diameter of 10cm and a height of 20cm with 9 piece specimens for each curing method, with a total of 27 samples for 3 curing methods, compressive strength testing was held at the age of 7, 14, and 28 days.
Based on the results obtained when the concrete was 28 days old, the highest compressive strength was found in the soaked treatment with the result of 43,35 MPa, the field curing method results decreased by 15,58% with a value of 36,59 MPa, and the untreated concrete results decreased by 29,82% with a compressive strength of 30.42MPa. It can be concluded that soaked in water curing is the best curing method while the curing on field can’t reach 40MPa.
